Business Angel (by vocation), Marketing and Strategic Innovation Consultant; over 25 years of consultancy experience in the fields of Industry and Services, both in Italy and abroad; creator of the “Acceleratio” project, innovation network for PMI’s (www.acceleratio.it); interested in the impact of technologies (especially “social”) in the Business/Enterprise and Consumer field, a theme explored in numerous articles in Pubblico and Pubblico Today. Massimiliano has over 20 years’ experience in investment banking and consultancy. He’s a founding partner of G2 Startups. Massimiliano began his career at Mediobanca, Milan. In 2000, he left Mediobanca to become ING Barings “Head of Italian and Equity Linked Desk”. Before founding G2, Massimiliano worked for several years as a consultant in the financial field as General Manager of the “Consorzio Camerale Credito e Finanza di Camera Commercio, Milano”, a consortium of the main Chambers of Commerce in Italy promoting financial services to SMEs. He has a wealth of experience in M&A, Equity and Capital Market Advisory and Project Financing.
With a degree in law, Luigi specialises in Third Party Goods and Assets Administration, Company Organisation and Management. As CEO of SO.GE.FID, Società Generale Fiduciaria e di Revisione, and with over 30 years’ experience in the business he has advised on several start-ups – both in Italy and abroad – and headed up primary banking institutions and/or International groups operating in both the industrial and financial sectors. Since 1999, he also operates in the field of structured finance, with particular focus on credit securitisation.
His diverse managerial and consulting experience has led him to preside over or to be a member of Boards of Directors of companies operating in the industrial, financial and insurance sectors.
InG2 he is both president of the renewed CDA and CFO, in addition to which he also manages the development of relations with industrial clients and financial partners.
Andrea is a successful CEO and GM – with an over 15 year experience – in Outdoor, Work & Safety, DIY, Industry at European and Worldwide level. Strong expertise in turnarounds, development of international sales, execution of relaunch strategies. Deep commercial experience with focus on multi-channel organizations, B2B and e-commerce/web solutions. Skilled in managing plant restructurings, productivity programs in Ops., brand/product positioning in accordance to a good/better/best logic. Born in Genova in 1958. Graduated with a degree in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico of Milan in 1982. From 1983 to 1992, he worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in the Industry and Distribution Division. Between 1992 and 1997, he was Director of Systems Integration for the Industry and Distribution sectors of Bull Italy. From 1997 to 2000, he was a partner and CEO of JBA Italy in its joint-venture between the English group JBA (listed on the stock market) and the Progress group, a company operating in the ERP sector. The year 2000 was a turning point in his career, moving him into the role of a consultant-entrepreneur with the InOne Group, Italy (business & information consulting) as the partner responsible for all the emerging e-business sector. Following the acquisition of this group by a multinational in 2002 he established Action Network together with other partners, where he has since filled the role of manager of the executive consultancy, services and IT solutions areas in the field of Sales & Marketing.
In G2 STARTUPS he’s primarily responsible for the Delivery and Quality Assurance of the projects.
Carlo Alberto Campi
Graduated in Business and Economics at the Catholic University of Milan, he has a twenty-year experience, mainly in multinational companies, as Senior manager in marketing, innovation and business development in complex business realities and as a partner and consultant in management consulting, with projects carried out in different economic segments (financial services, insurance, services, wine and spirits, utilities, automotive, payment systems). In G2 he is responsible for the development of the Innovation Business area and senior advisors in the Insurance & Finance sectors.
With 25 years’experience in the ICT sector and a degree in Electronic Engineering, in addition to expertise in the finance and general management sectors, hehas worked for 10 years in a leading Italian telecommunications’ company, first in the Energy Division then in the OSS department (Operating System Support). As a project engineer, he has managed the industrialisation of power supply switchings for telephone exchanges and, as a Requirement Leader, the OSS product lines for the main telephone operators in Spain. As an SME CEO, he has worked in the value-added services (VAS) segment for the support of Telco messaging platforms, contributing as a subcontractor to the startup of an important telephone operator in Italy. He has managed the startup of SMEs with his main focus on the offer of value-added services in the Energy-Environmental market through partnerships with big businesses and research bodies. Currently he is involved in the launch of startups in the Internet of Things and Smart Energy fields. In G2 STARTUPS, he’s in charge of advisory for all the technology sectors.
With over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, Orla Ralph has led various innovative start-ups in Italy for Visa, Aegeon, Nationwide Global and Assurant Solutions. Moreover, as CEO in Italy she managed the reorganisation of Swiss Re Life & Health (already Mercantile & General Re). Since 2010 she’s a member of the Kube Partners Srl board to develop its business in Italy and abroad. She’s a member of the Assistenza Casa Compliance Committee (British group Home Serve), insurance intermediary which offers emergency interventions on domestic plants services in partnerships with the utilities. Since 2014 she’s an independent advisor on the Board of Directors of Standard Ethics Ltd, a sustainable ratings company based in London. She collaborates with Enterprise Ireland in Italy (the governmental body in charge of promoting international trade).
Creative Problem Solving facilitator and engineer whisperer, in 2003 Elena became a practical example of Open Innovation when a multinational in the high-tech sector invited her small consultancy to help design and contribute to a 10-year innovation and change programme. An Experimental Psychology graduate with a Master’s in Business Administration with specialisations in strategic marketing, finance and innovation management, Elena spent these 10 years identifying and developing opportunities for process, product, project management and business winning innovation, and also trained and mentored a company-wide network of facilitators and innovation agents. An experienced soft-skills trainer, she also helps SMEs formulate their strategic objectives, communicate and share knowledge effectively, and manage international cultural relations.
For over 15 years he has taken care of personnel management within companies of different sizes, providing Temporary Management consultancy services as well. In the last few years he has taken part, covering operational management roles, in the launch and development of business in the field of HR. With a focus on business creation and company innovation – andwith a special eye for “startuppers” rather than startups themselves – he established his first company in 1999. Since the start of the 2000’s he has collaborated with IG (company for young entrepreneurship, today Invitalia) on several projects and contributedto the founding of over 40 small businesses in Umbria alone. In 2012, he became cofounder of the Centre for Innovation of the chemical and pharmaceutical sector, Capitank, from Abruzzo and, in 2015, he launched “Personal Profession”, an innovative collaboration and support model for accountants and entrepreneurs, always in the world of HR. He was president of AIDP Umbria between 2007 and 2011 and currently is a member of the BoD of AIDP Promotion srl. In Acceleratio, he’s in charge of the development of Centro Italia and heads up the Umbrian team.
For 20 years she has covered – within the family business – the role of Operations & Quality Manager in the sector of industrial distribution of hydraulic components for factory automation in addition to the design, construction and service of industrial systems.
Since 2008, she followed the M&A operations, supporting stockholders in the process of transfer and acquisition of associates’ stock shares.
She then managed the foundation of new distribution sites and a technological start-up, dedicated to the development of service for the Oil & Gas market and of the application of monitoring, diagnostic and telemetry for hydraulic systems.
Having supervised and concluded the exit process on behalf of the founding partners, today sheworks in Switzerland running her own Professional Studio, specialised in Business Advisory and Tutoring services for start-ups and innovative SMEs in the 4.0 Industry
JAMES C. ROBERTS III
He was educated between Berkeley (University of California) and Stanford University; he accumulated strategic competencies in the legal, M&A and Venture Capital fields, and was consultant to various corporations in the US and Europe, for start-ups and Venture Capital investors in the digital, mobile, media & entertainment and cleantech sectors. He works and lives between Europe, North America and Asia. He has worked for: Fox interactive, MySpace, Dick Clark production, PBS and numerous other start-ups. He played a key role in various negotiations for the BBC, Google, Reuters, Microsoft and Venture funds such as Vantagepoint Venture Partners, Pequot Ventures, Summit Ventures and various other Italian and European funds. He’s an appraiser and mentor to various organisations (Intesa San Paolo Start-up Initiative, Seedlab, Start-up Weekend, Mind the bridge, to mention a few).
Brought up watching War Games and the The Whiz Kids, he has always had a passion for technology. In 2005, following an MBA at the Il Sole 24 Ore Business School, he entered the digital world working for ZED, which was, at that time, the leader in the MVAS market. In 2011, he created Meetale, one of the first digital editorial platforms in Italy and recognised by the Italian Unitary Writers’ Federation as the most used by Italian writers.
Entrepreneur, she takes care of the creation and conception of formative projects. After some experiences as Project Manager in IT companies and as Customer Services specialist in the banking sector, in 2016 she founded Elastico, a specialised training agency which proposes “flexible” learning solutions for companies and professionals. The passion for innovation and the continuous search for new spheres for collaboration bring her – as community manager – to the organisation of related events as well. In G2, she deals with the development and management of the Educational area, in order to offer companies support and dedicated consultancy.
